About Spring Mills Empower Hour
Empower Hour will offer students a wide variety of programming in their own school building, immediately before or after school. All Empower Hour programs will meet once a week for six weeks, and are priced in three different tiers to reflect the amount of supplies needed. The programs at each specific school will change throughout the year - some examples of programming that we will offer include art, sports, science, music, karate, crafting, recreation classes, and more!

Featured Courses

  • Yoga Club with Miss Day

Come join Miss Day for yoga! Yoga Club is a one-hour class for Grades 2-5 (different dates based on grade level). Throughout the six weeks, the kids will explore breathing exercises, movement with traditional yoga poses, relaxation techniques and will have fun meeting new yoga friends in a safe and welcoming environment. We will be doing a variety of yoga flows, games and exercises. Students do not need any prior yoga experience to join. Each student is encouraged to bring a yoga mat or towel, water bottle, and comfortable clothes for movement. There are some mats available to borrow, if needed. While practicing yoga, we will be following the basic yoga practice of flowing barefoot. We hope to see you there!
  • Land Sharks Running Club

What? An after school run club twice a week for an hour each day! Where? Practices will be held on the track at Spring Mills Elementary. Your child will not be crossing roads, but may run indoors to deal with inclement weather conditions. Practice will NEVER be cancelled due to weather. You will pick up your child at 5:15 in the back of the parking lot by the playground and shed. Why? The focus of this club is to begin teaching your child about healthy exercise habits and show him/her how fun it can be to engage in a sport they can do their entire lives. No matter what pace we run, we’re still exercising our hearts and building a healthy foundation for “life after competitive sports!” *Students should bring a healthy after-school snack and a water bottle to each practice.
