AKC Canine Good Citizen: Basic ObediencePetsAll dogs can be good dogs and all owners can be great owners. All it takes is a bit of training, lots of love, and of course plenty of praise and petting along the way. The Canine Good Citizen™ (CGC) Program is a training program open to all dogs that focuses on teaching the basics of good manners and obedience, instilling values of responsible ownership and strengthens the bone between you and your dog everywhere you go. This program is for dogs over 6 months of age. Please bring proof of vaccinations to first class. AKC STAR Puppy TrainingPetsThe AKC STAR Puppy is a program designed to get dog owners and their puppies off to a good start. All dogs are welcome, both purebred and mixed breeds. These classes teach you how to best communicate with your puppy and provide an opportunity for your dog to socialize with other dogs in the proper way! You will be able to get your puppy raising questions answered including house training, chewing, jumping, and practical skills like sit, down, and come. About Boating SafelySafety TrainingThis course is an official US Coast Guard Auxiliary course and will give you the knowledge needed to obtain a safety certification for Michigan. Topics include: introduction to boating, boating law, boat safety equipment, safe boating, navigation, boating problems, trailering/storing/protecting your boat, and hunting/fishing/water-skiing/river boating. This class is online using Microsoft Teams. Once you register you will receive your login information. Passing the final exam entitles you to receive a boating safety certification card for Michigan. Certified Babysitter/CPR/First Aid and Safe Home Alone (Add On - Pet Sitter Safety too)BabysittingLearn to be safe and responsible. Build confidence. Have a competitive edge over other babysitters. One-day class. Topics include: First aid, when and how to call 911, CPR with mannequin practice, choking, dealing with difficult behaviors, basic care methods like feeding and diapering, marketing and much more! Students who successfully complete the course requirements are certified in Babysitter Safety, CPR and First Aid. Students will also learn how to be safe and responsible when home alone, including what to do if somebody comes to the door and the importance of not giving out personal information. Parents, class ends between 2 PM and 3 PM depending on when students complete the course requirements. Students need a lunch, snacks and a cell phone (if they own one).
