Basketball Shooting Lab Presented By: JD7 & 1829 Performance CoachingBasketball ProgramsThe 1829 Shooting Lab is unlike most camps or clinics. Our aim is to immerse attending players in a true environment of experimentation; just like one would encounter in a Laboratory. But in this case, the subject being studied and tested; is one’s own form and function for shooting a basketball. To serve this endeavor, different things will be explained and demonstrated, for the athletes to try in controlled drills; and decide which parts to add to the overall improvement of his or her shooting. Some of the things shown will challenge a number of existing rules and cliches most have been told about “shooting the basketball.” WE BELIEVE THIS TO BE THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT OF OUR EVENT There are certain points or thumb-rules about the teaching of shooting that have consistently been repeated over the years; and perhaps some still have merit. But finding those elusive few things, that when THE ATHLETE tries them and they "stick" (work for them), is what we are after. This process takes dedicated time. It takes exploration, and trial of a new approach and observation of the result; and correction or critique, and adjustment and retry, etc. It may take multiple turns of this entire process. So long as the end result is achieved, it's time well-spent. These kind of efforts, are also called: Experiments. What better place for experimentation to occur, with others that are interested in the same positive outcomes, than in a Lab. That's the place where discoveries are made, where things are created or improved, where you learn how and why. THE FOLLOWING FEATURES ARE PART OF THE SESSION: 1. a concentration on the entire process of shooting the basketball, from ground-up: 3+ hours on-the-court 2. the best ideas, points of emphasis and visual cues – for the player’s shooting self-evaluation, moving forward 3. a specific brand of teaching detail; players will be able to immediately apply what they learn from this event 4. event staff and instructors are all current or former college coaches, professionals, and former college players 5. souvenir t-shirt, and packet of takeaways/notes for ongoing reference and learning Shooting is the master skill of the game. If you possess the traits of “good shooting”; you bring real value to your basketball team. Let us improve, enhance and increase yours. Click HERE for our information flier!Summer 2023
