When your child has a Smartphone there are key things you should know in order to keep them safe and secure. In this class you'll understand recommended safety settings on popular social media apps, parental apps for your child's Smartphone, and more! We simplify this complicated technology so that you and your child can use the phone safely without worry.

Certified Babysitter/CPR/First Aid and Safe Home Alone Learn to be safe and responsible. Build confidence. Have a competitive edge over other babysitters. Topics include first aid, when and how to call 911, CPR with manikin practice, choking, dealing with difficult behaviors, basic care methods like feeding and diapering, marketing and more! Students will also learn how to be safe and responsible when home alone, including the importance of not giving out personal information and what to do if somebody comes to the door. Students who successfully complete the course requirements will receive a certificate of completion for Certified Babysitter/CPR/First Aid course by Live Safe Academy (valid for two years). Parents, this class is for students who are independent and responsible enough to be responsible for the safety and well-being of younger children without adult supervision. Class will end between 2 PM and 3 PM depending on when students complete the course requirements. Students need a lunch, snacks, and a fully charged cell phone (if they own one). If your student does not have a cell phone, please write down the cell phone number of the person picking them up and give it to the student. Students will message their ride at lunchtime to let their ride know what time to pick them up. Please check in your student at the beginning of class. Drop off and pick up is in the classroom. Increase your competitive edge by being more valuable to families with pets and kids. Increase your market by being certified to watch pets or kids. Learn to care for the pets in your own family. Have fun and help keep animals safe. Topics include pet first aid, CPR, choking, and more! This is an add on class for students who participate in the Certified Babysitter/CPR/First Aid course on the same day (students of a previous Live Safe Academy Certified Babysitter/CPR/First Aid course can become a certified pet sitter by taking a live virtual class). Common questions and insights on social media will be reviewed so that you're up to date on the latest buzz words and topics. Come and learn to share, search and connect and leave social media savvy as ever! No prior experience required.

Register now for the Esports Summer Camp featuring Fortnite! The week-long program includes 15 hours of instruction from experienced coaches. Each day, players will learn important in-game skills to improve and level up their play while also learning teamwork, communication, and building confidence - all through fun gaming activities and competitions. Each day, coaches lead players through training exercises to teach them new in-game skills, strategies, teamwork, and leadership. At the end of the camp, players will compete in a tournament among all the campers! You can sign up as an individual, invite friends, or join as a full team. IMPORTANT DETAILS Each camp is five days long for three hours each day. 12-3pm Eastern Camps include 9 hours of instruction and training from experienced coaches. This camp is designed to teach the fundamentals of football. This is a non-contact camp that will teach the fundamental techniques of tackling, throwing, kicking/punting, receiving and blocking. We will also work on speed and quickness development. This is a great opportunity to get into a Football State of Mind going into the fall season. HV United Volleyball Club is a brand new program brought to you by HV Rec and Community Ed. Details: Tryouts - Early Tryouts will be July 18/19/20. Details will follow soon. If we still need to fill teams after the early tryouts, then we'll host another tryout this Fall. Coach Coordinators - Girls Program - Coach Meghan Polce Boys Program - Coach Bob Parsons Season Dates - U12s - U14s: December - March (a few teams may choose to run December - June, details available at tryouts) Age Groups - Girls - U10s (3rd and 4th Grade), U11s (5th Grade), U12 (6th Grade), U13 (7th Grade), U14 (8th Grade) Boys - Elementary (Grades 3-5) and Middle School (Grades 6-8) Practices - TBD, for the 2022/2023 Season we ran practices - Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays @ Oak Valley MS either 6-7:30 or 7:30-9 p.m., teams will practice 2x a week. Tournaments - Teams will play in approximately 6 local 1-day AAU Tournaments. Tournaments will start in early January and finish at the end of March. Dates and locations TBD. Teams choosing to play an extended season will play in more tournaments. Uniforms - we will have a uniform for the players including a jersey, shorts, socks and kneepads. Price TBD. We’ll walk you through a step-by-step process so that you can get started today!

Do you hate to drive in bad weather or when it's dark outside? Expand your transportation options and independence through the ride sharing service, Uber. In this training workshop, students will learn the basics and gain the knowledge on how to use Uber if needed. We’ll also cover how to use Uber at major airports so that you can travel with confidence and use Uber anywhere in the world (without having to ask a friend for a ride). No experience required and training materials will be provided for each attendee.

The Michigan High School Athletic Association has partnered with an online education system called RefReps. HV Rec and Community Ed is offering this officiating training for anyone ages 14 and older to get trained and certified to become an MHSAA official. There will be online training tools as well as in person lessons where students will get hands on training. HV Rec and Ed will also be offering jobs to officiate in the various leagues offered throughout the year. Wages are competitive and work schedules are flexible to work around busy school/sports/life schedules. This program will offer training in basketball, volleyball and soccer as the primary sports, but there will be options for students to get trained in any of the 13 offerings. The online training is interactive and provides "real life" examples from the official's perspective in live games. Course Fee: $75/sport - this includes online training, in person training, MHSAA license once the student successfully passes the course and lifetime access to the resources.

The 2023 Summer Academy is an event with 100% concentration on the individual skills of girls and boys basketball players. Our staff is second to none in player development, with multiple combined years of coaching experience; and having worked with dozens of players. For: 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th Grade Boys and Girls – 2 sessions per day offered, sign up for one or both. Join us in this fun golf class designed just for our junior golfers. Classes will combine swing development, on-course play; with a focus on safety, etiquette, and fitness. Golfers should bring their own equipment (limited clubs are available) and a water bottle. Range balls are included in the price of the class. Limited to six participants. Work with Lakeland Varsity basketball coach Ron Thompson, Staff and Players on fundamentals and scrimmages. We will have drills with varying degree of difficulty to encourage all level player to participate and scrimmage. With our philosophy of Attitude - Hard Work - Preparation, each player will be taught to play with confidence, team first, hard work and to prepare to be the best basketball player you can be. Session 1 is recommended for Incoming 4-6th graders and will focus on basic skills, footwork and positioning. Session 2 is recommended for incoming 7-8th graders and is for older players or those who have played organized basketball and are confident in their playing skills.

Instruction for this camp with be provided by Lakeland's varsity girls basketball coach, Michael Leitheim, his staff, as well as current and former girls basketball players at Lakeland. This camp is open to any girl, incoming K-9 graders, and will focus on skill development on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. This camp will give participants an opportunity to learn more about the game while interacting with new people. T-shirt is included in the fee.

This 1 day clinic/camp is open to all incoming Freshman girls. This will be a great opportunity for you to meet the coaching staff and learn some of the key drills the coaches will expect you to participate in at tryouts staring August 7, 2023.

This 3 day camp is open to any ability level, boys or girls. Instruction for this camp will be provided by Lakeland's coaching staff. This camp will introduce and teach the major skills for volleyball: passing, setting, attacking, defense, serve and serve receive. Campers will work hard (please send water with your player). This camp is for incoming 3rd-8th grader players (based on Fall 2023 grades)
