  • HVS 6th Grade Volleyball League

Join us for this brand new league for 6th graders to play for their school in an intramural setting. This is for players who did not make the 7th grade team this fall OR chose not to try out just yet but are ready for the next step beyond recreation volleyball. Players should be players who have played before (preferably even club volleyball). This will be a great prep step leading into middle school MHSAA ball next fall. We will make exceptions for players new to the game if they demonstrate athletic ability that will allow them to compete with the level of this program. We will allow 1 non-HVS team to join as well so we have an even 4 teams for matches each week. Each team will consist of 10-12 players from their school. Registration will close Sept 10, by then everyone should know if your child made the 7th grade team or not. Registration fees will not be collected until September 6th, that way if you register now and your child makes the team, you do not have to pay the fee until tryouts are completed. We would like to secure 2 coaches per team and in lieu of paying the coaches, we will waive the entire registration fee for each coach for their time. If you are interested in being a coach for one of these teams, please respond accordingly during registration. If we are able to secure a non-parent coach, we will compensate them for their time. Scholarships are available, as needed as well. Please contact us at Shannon.Loso@hvs.org for those details. Practices will be Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-7:30 p.m. or 7:30-9 p.m. at your home school and matches will be on Friday nights at one of the HVS middle schools. The plan is to host a playoff on the final night of play, all 4 teams will play 2 matches. The winners of the first match will play for 1st and 2nd and the losers of the first match will play for 3rd and 4th.
