Bring your own guitar and learn how to play chords, scales and your favorite songs too. You will also gain understanding of several music theory principles related to writing your own songs. In addition, a review of guitar tuning, essential maintenance and installing new strings on your guitar will be presented. Play music games and see concert videos from your favorite artists! The Electric Guitar Building Workshops are an exciting music program providing a comprehensive presentation of the guitar building process. You will fully assemble playable instruments, install the electronics and calibrate the intonation. In addition, you will learn to string and tune these guitars through several methods and with professional accuracy. Basic hand tools are provided (no power tools are required). Guitars are available for purchase after the workshop. Guitars will be available for purchase anytime during the workshop from the instructor. Registration fees will be charged on 7/1/24.

Huron Valley Gymnastics is a recreational and competitive gymnastics program that offers classes to children ages 18 months-18 years. We offer fun, safe and affordable gymnastics for those looking to compete or learn a cartwheel. Staff consists of coaches with backgrounds in education, cheer, dance and gymnastics. Girls and boys are welcome in our toddler/preschool and school age programs. Toddler-Preschool Gymnastics- For boys and girls ages 18 months-4 years old. Students will get their first experience with the wonderful sport of gymnastics. Balance, strength, coordination, flexibility and confidence are just a few of the concepts we will work on. We will use all pieces of gymnastics equipment as well as fun preschool equipment. Parents may accompany child in the class. School Age / Recreational Gymnastics- For boys and girls ages 5-14 years old. Gymnasts will be instructed on all pieces of equipment. Strength, balance, flexibility, body awareness and confidence are all concepts we will work on. Beginning- Stretching, body positions, forward and backward rolls, handstand, cartwheel, bridge and skills on equipment will be worked on. If you can't do a cartwheel yet, this is the class for you. Intermediate- We will work on the skills listed for the Beginning class and start working on back walkovers as well as more difficult skills on equipment. Advanced- Gymnasts should be able to do a back walkover on the floor and working back handspring. This is our most advanced class before our competitive team.

HV United Volleyball Club entering its 3rd season and is brought to you by HV Rec and Community Ed. Details: Tryouts - Early Tryouts will be July 10, 2024. If we still need to fill teams after the early tryouts, then we'll host another tryout this Fall. Boys Tryouts - held later this summer/fall Girls U10 and U11 Tryouts: held this fall, TBD Season Dates - U12s - U14s: December - March (a few teams may choose to run December - June, details available at tryouts) Age Groups - Girls - U10s (3rd and 4th Grade), U11s (5th Grade), U12 (6th Grade), U13 (7th Grade), U14 (8th Grade) Boys - Elementary (Grades 3-5), Middle School (Grades 6-8), and High School (Grades 9-12) Practices - TBD, for the 2023/2024; teams will practice 2x a week. Tournaments - Teams will play in approximately 6 local 1-day AAU Tournaments. Tournaments will start in early January and finish at the end of March. Dates and locations TBD. Teams choosing to play an extended season will play in more tournaments. Uniforms - we will have a uniform for the players including a jersey, shorts, socks and kneepads. Price TBD. The 2024 Summer Academy is an event with 100% concentration on the individual skills of girls and boys basketball players. Our staff is second to none in player development, with multiple combined years of coaching experience; and having worked with dozens of players. For: 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th Grade Boys and Girls – 2 sessions per day offered, sign up for one or both. The morning session will run 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.; the afternoon session will run 1 - 4 p.m. Sign up for both and save! – Morning session will consist of dribbling/ball handling, passing and receiving, and transition/open court, moving with, and without the ball - Afternoon session will be defense, footwork, and finishing, shooting, and competitions – Participation includes 3 days of organized teaching and drilling of basketball skills for all attendees – Registration Deadline: 3 weeks prior to the start of the program. This is an open-ended art class for your child to express themselves and explore with various art mediums. Our materials list is ever evolving! A sample of experiences include drawing, out of the box exploration with paint & color, watercolor and tempera paints, pastels, air dry clay, and working with various materials to empower a creative imagination.
